Deciding to pursue psychotherapy is a courageous first step on your path towards healing. Most of us find that we want to be happy, to make good healthy decisions, to have great relationships with our family, friends and lovers. But there are frustrations, fights, arguments, and times when we find ourselves moving into the same direction we swore we would never go again. Isn’t it interesting that each of us seem to have the same reoccurring difficulties in life: the same arguments with our lover, the same problems with our kids, the same fights with our family, the same work problems, the same overeating, or excessive drinking.

Today I am a woman ready to handle life’s curveballs
My therapeutic relationship with Kathryn has, in summary, changed my life. Perhaps after 40 years of pain and struggle I was simply ‘ready.’ I had been ‘ready’ many times before. I had many great therapists as I battled eating disorders and life in general...but I ran. I felt pushed. Misunderstood, and always withholding something, I ultimately made an excuse, and ran. Kathryn was different. When I met her, I was a mess. Kathryn met me where I was, and simply listened at first. Then she began appealing to my intellect. What I like MOST about her, is that she did not focus on my past. Her focus is what I could do to make my life better from here. I was able to make changes
I decided that I needed help with my transition to retirement and my ongoing battle with my weight. Working full time in a stressful job, did not allow me to focus on me (or was that my excuse for not addressing my weight?). I started working with Kathryn before I retired and had a seamless transition. We also started working on my weight issues. Little by little I was able to make changes and am now 53 pounds into my weight loss journey. Kathryn has provided direction, encouragement, support and tools to help me be successful. I'm excited for what the future holds thanks to Kathryn.
